The Finishing Touch Academy

Core Focus Areas:

  1. Finishing Techniques-Mastering various shot types ( reverse sweep, drag flicks, lifted shots, deflections, etc.)
  2. Positioning and Movement-Off-ball movement, reading the defense, and getting into high-percentage scoring areas.
  3. 1 v1 Attack and Elimination Skills-Beating defenders with speed, skill, and deception.
  4. Quick Decision Making- Reacting to defensive pressure, choosing the best shot, and executing under pressure.
  5. Scoring on the Move-Perfecting finishing at full speed, in transition, and in tight spaces.
  6. Attacking from All Positions-Midfielders driving into the circle, defenders stepping up to support the attack, and forwards capitalizing on scoring chances.

  • 5:00 pm-6:00 pm
  • Experience Level: Intermediate- 2+ years playing
  • Maximum Athletes: 6 participants – Small group focus for personalized attention

High School

  • 6:30 pm-7:45 pm
  • Experience Level: Intermediate- 3+ years playing
  • Maximum Athletes: 8 participants – Small group focus for personalized attention

 

Deceptive Sweep Field Hockey Introduction Clinic 

Unlock the secret to one of the most effective skills in field hockey: the Deceptive Sweep! Join us for an introduction to this advanced technique that will make you a more unpredictable and dynamic player on the field.

What the Clinic Will Cover:

  • Deceptive Sweep Technique: Learn how to execute the deceptive sweep, a powerful and sneaky move to outwit defenders and create scoring opportunities.
  • Angle and Placement: Master how to position your stick for maximum accuracy and deception.

Clinic Details:

  • Experience Level: Beginner- Intermediate
  • Maximum Athletes: 8 participants – Small group focus for personalized attention

 

Base Camp

This 5-week beginner series is designed for younger players to introduce them to field hockey in a fun, engaging, and educational environment. The focus is on basic skills development, building confidence, and fostering a love for the game, all while ensuring the sessions are age-appropriate and enjoyable.

Each class includes fundamental skills, light conditioning, and games that help players understand the game of field hockey while keeping the experience positive and exciting.

Middle School Skills Classes

 

These 5-week prep series is designed for middle school students who are new to field hockey or have limited experience. Each week, you’ll focus on developing key skills while also gaining a better understanding of the game. The series is progressive, so by the end, you’ll be more comfortable handling the stick, passing, and playing in a team setting.
